About
Over a century of keeping Chicago electricians working.
We carry the CED name on our trucks and paychecks. We carry the Efengee name because it’s been ours since 1919.
How we got here
Over a century of building relationships, expanding our reach, and helping Chicagoland’s electrical contractors get the job done.
Efengee Electric Opens in Chicago
Efengee began with a simple mission: get electricians the materials they need, when they need them. What started as a local electrical supply house grew into a trusted resource for contractors across Chicago.
Efengee Joins CED
Efengee joined Consolidated Electrical Distributors (CED), combining our local expertise and relationships with the resources of a nationwide distribution network. This partnership positioned us to serve more customers and continue growing throughout Chicagoland.
Expanding to Countryside
Efengee moved to Countryside, Illinois, expanding our reach beyond Chicago and strengthening our ability to support electrical contractors throughout the western suburbs and beyond.
Growing into Bensenville
As our business continued to grow, so did our need for space. Efengee relocated to Bensenville to accommodate increasing demand and better serve our expanding customer base throughout Chicagoland.
Making Room for More in Elk Grove Village
Continued growth called for another move. Efengee relocated to Elk Grove Village, securing the space needed to support more inventory, more customers, and the evolving needs of Chicagoland’s electrical contractors.
Back in Bensenville. Built for What’s Next.
With business continuing to grow, it was time for another major move. Efengee relocated to 710 Foster Avenue in Bensenville, giving our expanding team and inventory room to grow. Today, with 105 team members and $15 million in inventory, we’re better equipped than ever to serve Chicagoland’s electrical contractors while staying true to the name and relationships that started it all.

Chicago roots run deep.
For generations, the Efengee name was a fixture on Chicago’s Near West Side, around Chicago and Milwaukee Avenues. Old Efengee matchbooks still turn up with collectors today, a small reminder of how long we’ve been part of the city’s trade.
Have an old Efengee photo, catalog or matchbook? Bring it by the counter. We’d love to see it.

Efengee is who you know. CED is what’s behind us.
The local side. Our name, our people and our customers. Decisions about stock, service and delivery get made here in Bensenville by people who know Chicagoland jobsites.
The national side. Consolidated Electrical Distributors, founded in 1957, gives us the buying power, manufacturer relationships and inventory network of one of the country’s largest electrical distributors.
